Caught this on the Tues (10th) and watched it again this morning (15th). It’s so fantastic to see this kind of progress — raising orphaned cheetah in a way that they can be re-introduced safely into the wild; and that more farmers are willing to spare cheetah lives due to increased education etc — and AMAZING to learn that non-blood-related cheetah can learn to co-exist and even form a functional coalition.. and then even when there’s a “change of leadership”, they’re still together!
I was in Namibia on a Mabaruli tour, late Aug’08. When it was originally booked, it was to include a Cheetah park element, but just before we went, sadly it had been removed, and I didn’t manage to get an explanation to satisfy me… It was the ONE thing I REALLY wanted to do, above all else!
Perhaps next time I visit Namibia, I’ll just arrange directly to visit you, and Amani, and NamibRand directly..!
Thank You, CCF, and Laurie Marker & co;
Merci Beaucoup, Amani et Olivier Houalet;
.. and thanks to Channel Five for showing it!
A fabulous result — about 70 days free and counting! — and best wishes going forward! Can’t wait to learn more about Amani’s “new set” which Olivier will work with!!
Best,
Chris..
